In its earliest form, the german project can be dated back to the year 1991. Influenced from the beginning by classical music, the gothic tales of Mrs Shelley and the beauty of long forgotten times, "Verney 1826" still follows its vision to create sad musical landscapes. The project uses stylistic elements from gothic ambient or haunting darkwave, "Verney 1826" while the lyrics go reflective ways. In the fall of 2008, "Verney 1826" recorded some autumn songs with mezzo-soprano Anna Aliena (ShirayasDream). Music for the bleak hours of the night: Quiet, dark, fragile.

Björn Malmros (Sweden) is the man behind A Journey Of The Mind. As a child Björn played the violin, but other than that he has never had any musical schooling. A musical jack of all trades, Björn happily plays anything that can be called an instrument, but considers himself a master none. He believes that music, like language, has the innate ability to carry meaning and emotions that can be interpreted by the listener. Inspired by ancient folklore and role playing games, A Journey of the Mind is Björns way of sharing his imaginings with his listeners.
